Sleepy YK Bay is a large weaving featuring hand-embroidered houseboats situated on Yellowknife Bay at night. The aurora stretch across the dark night sky just over the rocky horizon of the bay. This weaving took roughly 30 hours to complete and was originally priced at $875!
This weaving is full of a ton of hand-spun art yarn, fine felted wool, Egyptian cotton fibre, merino wool, corded rope, and other artisanal fibres.
The antique frame of this weaving measures 30 inches wide by 26 inches tall. As the frame is antique from the 1920s/1930s, there are some visible flaws (that add to the character of the piece!).
